A note about terms for Ohio legislators:

Members of the Ohio General Assembly are subject to term limits. Both State Representatives and State Senators are limited to eight consecutive years of service in the House or Senate. For Representatives, eight years equals four 2-year terms. For Senators, eight years equals two 4-year terms.

Every two years, all seats in the Ohio House of Representatives are contested. In the Ohio Senate, half of the seats are up for election every two years, so Ohio Senators' four-year terms are staggered.
