The
Access Project
The Access Project focuses on promoting
health access at the local community level. This site contains reports
and fact sheets on the uninsured, as well as updates on their local
projects.
Afterschool.gov
A
new site by the Department of Education, Afterschool.gov has information
about more than 100 federal grant and loan programs for after school.
The web site also contains
resources for building strong programs, available publications about
child care and after-school issues, and links to educational web sites
for children and youths.
American
Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Ohio Chapter
The AAP and
its member pediatricians dedicate their efforts and resources to
the health, safety and well-being of infants, children, adolescents
and young adults.
American
Association of Health Plans
This site has links to a number of
documents that address the CHIP program and childrens health
issues.
American
Public Human Services Association (APHSA)
A
nonprofit, bipartisan organization, includes all state and many territorial
human service agencies, more than 1,200 local agencies, and several
thousand individuals who work in or otherwise have an interest in
human service programs. APHSA educates members of Congress, the media,
and the broader public on what is happening in the states concerning
welfare, child welfare, health care reform, and other issues involving
families and the elderly.
Appalachian
Center for Economic Networks (ACENet)
ACENet
is a community-based
economic development organization located in rural, southeastern
Ohio. Their purpose is to work with others in the area to create
a healthy regional economy with many successful businesses and good
jobs; their goal is for people with low incomes to move out of poverty
permanently through employment or business ownership.
Association
for Children for Enforcement of Support (ACES)
The ACES mission
is to assist disadvantaged children affected by parents who fail
to meet the legal, moral, and financial obligations of child support.
Based in Toledo, Ohio, ACES is the largest nonprofit grassroots child
support advocacy organization in the United States.
The
Brookings Institution
In its research, The Brookings Institution
functions as an independent analyst and critic, committed to publishing
its findings for the information of the public. In its conferences
and activities, it serves as a bridge between scholarship and public
policy, bringing new knowledge to the attention of decisionmakers
and affording scholars a better insight into public policy issues.
